Instructions for Use (IFU)
The UScreen Oral Plus Multi-Drug 16-Panel Saliva/Oral Fluid Test is designed for the detection of multiple drugs of abuse in human oral fluid. Please read the instructions carefully before testing.
- Test Device - Before use, allow test kit to reach room temperature (15-30°C/59-86°F).
- Collection Swab - Do not place anything in mouth at least 10 minutes before specimen collection. The oral fluid specimen must be collected using the collection swab provided with the test kit.
1. Specimen Collection
Remove the collection swab from packaging. Start timer. Relax the mouth and insert the collection swab horizontally into the mouth. Using a circular motion, gently swab both cheeks, gums, and the surface of the tongue 5-10 times each, actively swabbing inside the mouth until a red color appears on the saturation indicator strip.
Important: Do not bite, suck, or chew the collection swab. Hold the swab horizontally throughout collection. If after 4 minutes the saturation indicator strip hasn't activated, refer to troubleshooting notes. If after 7 minutes no color appears, proceed with the test anyway.
2. Insert Collection Swab into Test DeviceRemove the test device from the sealed pouch and place it upright on a flat surface. Insert the swab gently and slowly into the test device until it reaches the bottom. Push the cap until securely locked.
Important: Keep the test device upright during this process.
3. Start Timer
Keep the device upright on a flat surface until completion. Start timer.
If test strips fail to develop (invalid), peel away the bottom label to inspect specimen volume.
4. Results Interpretation
Interpret results at 10 minutes.
For alcohol tests, use the provided color reference card and interpret at 3 minutes.
Result Types:
- Negative
- Presumptive Positive
Notes and Troubleshooting:
- If strips do not wick properly, peel off the bottom label to check for sufficient specimen volume or viscosity issues.
- If fluid is thick, move the device gently across a flat surface while upright, or gently tap the device to remove air bubbles.
- If the saturation strip hasn't turned red after 4 minutes, rotate the swab while swabbing to improve saturation.
INTERPRETATION OF TEST RESULTS
(1) Drug test results:
Preliminary Positive (+)
A color band is visible in each control region (C). If no color band appears in the appropriate drug test region, a positive result is indicated for the corresponding drug of that specific test region.
Negative (-)
If a color band is visible in each control region (C) and the appropriate drug test region, it indicates that the concentration of the corresponding drug of that specific test region is absent or below the detection limit of the test.
Invalid
If a color band is not visible in the control region (C) or a color band is only visible in the drug test region, the test is invalid. Another test should be run to re-evaluate the specimen.
NOTE: There is no meaning attributed to line color intensity or width
(2) Alcohol test results:
A distinct color is developed all over the pad. The positive result indicates that the BAC is 0.02% or higher. The alcohol concentration changes are related to the color chart below.
Negative (-)
Almost no color changes compared to that of the background. A result where the outer edges of the reagent pad produce a slight color but the majority of the pad remains the background color should be repeated to ensure complete saturation of the reagent pad with saliva. If the second result is the same, the results should be interpreted as being negative. The negative result indicates that the BAC is less than 0.02%.
Invalid
If the reaction pad has a green color before applying saliva sample, do not use this test.
