Additional Information

Kratom leaves produce narcotic-like effects when smoked, chewed, or drank as a suspension, which have recently attracted significant attention due to increased use in Western cultures as an alternative medicine. It is used in therapy for opiate addiction and chronic pain management.    The addiction potential and adverse health consequences are becoming an important issue for health authorities.  Extensive use of kratom results in prolonged sleep. The withdrawal symptoms include hostility, aggression, muscle pain and inability to work.  Its uses are illegal in certain countries but remains legal in the US, UK and most of Europe.

Mitragynine is the major alkaloid of Kratom contributing 12-66.2% of the total alkaloid extract.

The One Step KRATOM Test is made for the rapid detection of Mitragynine in human urine. It is 1-step rapid test dipstick, which gives a result in just 5 minutes. This fast immunoassay is used for screening without the use of an instrument. The method employs a unique monoclonal antibody to selectively identify Mitragynine metabolites in test urine at or above the concentration of 100 ug/ml. This product is only designed to qualitatively detect of KRATOMand its metabolites.

Note: This test provides only a preliminary analytical result which should be confirmed by a more specific method. Gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS) has been established as the preferred confirmatory method by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). Clinical consideration and professional judgment should be applied to any drug of abuse test result, particularly when preliminary positive results are indicated.
